The Canadian College system offers an array of player talent & background levels. You will find quality hockey being played throughout the league. As for player backgrounds, you will find players with Jr. B histories all the way to players with Major Jr. experience. This diversity of players fuels a passion for improvement with hopes of moving to the next level.
Canadian College allows players who may have been passed over or who have been late bloomers the chance to play competitive hockey while attending school. It also presents itself to players who may want to finish out their careers while attending college. Most classes at Canadian Colleges are transferable to Universities and this allows players to hone their skills, work towards their degree and at the end of the day have the opportunity to make the jump to the university or professional level.
The level of hockey being played on a whole is considerably faster than that of Jr. A. Once again, rookies will find the jump to playing against men and the increase in speed and talent to be their biggest challenges. This talent and speed increase will drive players to adapt through improving their skills on a daily basis.
Anytime a player can go to school, play hockey competitively, and have the chance to grow as a player & person, it's a positive experience. For those players who choose the Canadian College route, it can & will help them as players & people. As well, the opportunity for the players to take what they've learned and move on to the next level is there for the taking.
