Under the guidance of The Canadian College Athletic Association (CCAA), two athletic conferences within Canada participate in hockey - the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association. There are 14 teams in total that play within the two conferences. Canadian college hockey is gaining a reputation as being and extremely competitive league by often competing against CIS teams and doing quite well. The CCAA offers its players a chance to study specific skills and trades while still being able to play quality hockey. Many CCAA players move on to both the CIS as well as the professional ranks.
