For the majority of players whose goals are to pursue their education, Div I is where they are aiming to go, and for the top student athletes, this is where they end up. The league consists of six Conferences including: the CCHA, ECAC, CHA, Atlantic Hockey, WCHA and the Hockey East. The NCAA Div I program is scouted heavily by the ECHL through to the NHL. Players at this level are both earning their degrees and taking a proactive step in furthering their hockey careers.
