When scouting for players, the Hurricanes look for hardworking athletes dedicated to being a great player and a great person. The team places a high priority on the education of its players. Lethbridge has a junior college and a university in the city, and the team works closely with the dedicated staff of a local high school. And, while playing in Lethbridge, all players are billeted by the team with local families.

Population: 65,000
Lethbridge is a large center for producing crops of grain and raising livestock. The numerous parks in the area (Indian Battle Park and Henderson Lake Park) offer opportunities for playing tennis, renting boats, picnicking, and camping. An international air show is held each year in mid-August.
