About the Team

The Screaming Eagles are a new franchise owned by a local family who are lifetime residents and business people. They own a newspaper called "The Papertown Post" -The Voice of The Screaming Eagles! The owners have a long history of community involvement and have been well supported by local sponsors who also just happen to be their newspaper customers! We believe in bringing local players and out of town players together to build a young team that will develop in time into a powerhouse in the league!
With regards to players, the team looks for players that are the embodiment of their name. The Eagle is an awesome symbol of strength and perseverance! The most common image of the eagle is of it soaring to the hights of the sky! Espanola hopes to find players with these qualities and other similar ones like dedication, work ethic, basic skills, desire to learn, team player, good attitude, and love of the game!
The team's sports complex(arena, pool, fitness centre, squash courts) is 10 yards from the largest public high school in the area. The team is also 40 minutes from Laurentian University, and Cambrian College which the majority of our players attend. The Eagles have a team van that picks up students who wish to live on campus instead of in Espanola. The team believes that education is first: Important tests, exams and other important school functions are viewed on a student by student basis and accommodating these is a priority for our coaching staff!
As well, the team has the Espanola Screaming Eagles Booster Club which helps organize events for the fans and players to become acquainted. The team has an excellent billet program that has received rave reviews from players and parents alike. The food is always good wherever the team goes! Some players prefer living on campus while attending University or College: They are picked up for every game and practice and returned again each day! The Eagles normally practice on Monday and Wednesday nights and play Friday, Saturday, and Sundays!
