Brian P. Patafie

Brian ('Taf') Patafie is a veteran Athletic Trainer spending twenty-Seven years in professional & Major Jr. hockey. Prior to joining the Ottawa 67's as Head Athletic Trainer, Brian was with the Augusta Lynx joining them during the 1998-99 season as Head Athletic Trainer and Team Services Coordinator, Brian spent fifteen years in the Calgary Flames Organization. The last three seasons were spent as Athletic Trainer with the N.H.L. club in Calgary working under veteran N.H.L. coach Pierre Page and finishing his Calgary portion of his career with coach Brian Sutter. When Brian saw the direction the Flames organization was going, he had to make a decision: "Did I want to be part of a small market N.H.L. franchise, or did I want to take on more responsibility with a hockey club and return to the minor leagues?" After some cold winter days reading minus 40, the decision to join the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL was an easy one. With the Lynx, not only was Brian in charge of Injury Management with the club but also oversaw the rest of the Lynx Training Staff (both full and part time) as well as handled the Team's travel arrangements, practice ice times, player housing, player immigration, and equipment purchasing. When you can't find Brian at the arena, you will probably find him playing golf or on the lake with his wife Dawn and their two children in their boat "TAFS TOY".
